I finally got to see the movie about a year later. Disappointment isn't the word. As Good As it Gets is probably one of the WORST movies I have seen in a long, LONG time. It is AWFUL. Just AWFUL. I would NEVER recommend this piece of rubbish to ANYONE.

WHY is it so bad? Heck, I don't even know where to begin! Okay. First off, the movie is WAY too damn long. It does NOT NEED TO BE. The boring "story"...if you could call it that (there wasn't much of a plot to the movie, mostly a bunch of random stuff happened, more or less), could have been dealt with in HALF the running length of the movie. Boy, did it ever drag on. Ugh, it was so BORING. And worst of all, it was SO CLICHEED!!!!! The gay artist guy? Give me a freakin' BREAK! The worst scene is when Kinnear wakes up when they're on their little trip to whatever state they went to, and he sees Helen Hunt sitting naked on the edge of the bathtub, and he freaks out, and he's like, "don't move, don't move, I want to draw you!" or whatever. Oh, YUCK!!!!! Kill. Me. Now. That was SO clichéed, corny, and just plain stupid. Does that kind of stuff ALWAYS have to happen? And the way he starts drawing her and stuff...the way that scene was all carried out...I can't explain it really, you just have to see it (but for the love of God, please DON'T, you'll regret it later!), it's just so clichéed and sappy and awful. And the way Hunt was sitting on the tub...oh, PLEASE, tell me that did NOT look so set-up and FAKE. Sick-a-ning! What a yucky, stupid movie.
Furthermore, the character Hunt played was a complete and utter uptight b**ch! Her character took EVERYTHING so seriously and was so uptight all the time and overall just the type of person I would NEVER want to be around....oh, awful!!!!

Anyway, i can't get really into much more detail about this cruddy excuse for a movie. I just hated it so much that I felt compelled to write a rant about it...it was really a very much wasted three hours of my life I'll never get back.
